For more than 25 years, Dr. Bonnie Wilson has worked in various roles within the healthcare industry, beginning with bedside nursing positions in Washington, D.C., Maryland, New York, and Texas. She transitioned to leadership in Washington, D.C., where she led the emergency department. In less than three years, she assumed the role of Administrative Director of Emergency and Outpatient Services in the largest healthcare provider in western Maryland.
Dr. Bonnie’s formal coaching career began in 2011 with the Studer Group, a Huron Solution located in Florida. During the two years Dr. Bonnie was in this role, she worked with the c-suite, executives, directors, and managers in more than 12 healthcare organizations to improve customer, employee, and physician engagement.
From 2011 to early 2020, Dr. Bonnie worked at a large healthcare system on the west coast where she was the Executive Director for Emergency Services responsible for nine emergency departments. While there, patient experience results for eight adult emergency departments reached and sustained the 75th percentile. She also held a faculty position within the Health Care Administration and Nursing program at Warner Pacific University in Portland.
Dr. Bonnie moved to Texas to take a position as Vice President of Patient Care within a community hospital. She has since decided to pursue a life-long dream of combining her operational and relationship-building skills to work full-time as CEO and Founder of Xceeding the Mark, LLC Executive Coaching and Consulting. part-time as a premier coach with BetterUp Coaching, contract coach with Simmons Leadership for Women, Velocity Advisory Group, Waldron, Heidrick and Struggles, and as a Guide with Chief.
Dr. Bonnie has a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN), a master’s in business (MBA), and a Doctorate in Healthcare Administration with a focus on Health Policy and Advocacy (DHA). She holds the following credentials: Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified (NEA-BC), International Coach Federation (ICF) Professional Certified Coach (PCC), Center for Executive Coaching (CEC) Certified Executive Coach, and Certified Career Coach. Dr. Bonnie is certified to administer DISC, a non-judgmental personality, and behavioral assessment, and GENOS, an emotional intelligence assessment.
In her free time, Dr. Bonnie enjoys cooking and spending time with her friends and her amazingly handsome husband, four adult children, and four grandchildren.
